CUSTOMIZING THE TRIPPLANZ WIDGET
The TripProximity Toolkit provides an HTML snippet with information about your venue and/or event. The snippet may be added to your website as is, or you may further customize the information.
The TripProximity intelligent widget has been designed with the objective that people with basic IT knowledge can implement it on their web site or in their blog.
If you can clip embed code from YouTube and install it into your website, you can easily implement the TripProximity Widget.
You will need access to modify your website or blog in order to install the widget. If you do not have access, find out who your webmaster for the site or blog is and show them this video.
Adding the widget to your HTML website
If you are adding the widget to an existing page:
- Copy the widget snippet from the TripProximity Toolkit (or open the Dynamic Widget code provided to you by your Account Director) and paste it into a TEXT editor. You will need to do this in order to pull the input parameters for the next step.
- Paste the parameters inside the desired HTML section or div.
- In the next HTML line, copy the Widget HTML Code. This is normally inserted inside the body element within the HTML document.
- Publish the page and you should see the rendered widget display.
Adding the widget to a site with a CMS (WordPress, Wix, Weebly, Squarespace)
The TripProximity Toolkit provides an option to customize the HTML snippet based on your platform. Simply select the platform type and the snippet will be adjusted accordingly.
Customizing the Widget Further
The input parameters provided to you in the HTML snippet will have the customized values required for your web site, but if you need more information on the customization options, click the button below to see the description of each of the variables.
ADDING AN EVENT
If you need to set a fixed date for your event, you should have received a separate event widget snippet from your Account Director for the event.
